Hurry Up ~♪

meghan9436I didn't get as much done today as I was hoping to, but I still accomplished a lot!
I posted a large update about my weekend this morning here. I want to say it took me a good hour and a half to hammer out those details.
After that, I planned my next moves very carefully. First, I did some tidying in my apartment, getting my sewing projects off the floor. I still have more to do, but I appreciate the floor space.
It took me 20 minutes to work out the basic guitar chords for Put On Your Shoes/Hurry Up from Super Simple Songs. The chords are not hard, but I was proud of myself that I was able to pull together the basic backing melody within hours of a scheduled class. When I got home today, I started writing the tabs for all the extra bells and whistles for the song.
Happybeatsss on YouTube got me kick started on the kids entertainment side of things this year, because they had the chords posted for the Hello, Hello! (Can You Clap Your Hands?) song and the Bye Bye Goodbye song, both from Super Simple Songs.
I previously taught Music Travel Kids content at other schools with just the video support and no live music. I think by going back to the super basics with Super Simple Songs content (and even as cliché and overused as they are), it will help me work my way up to playing the MTK stuff.
Again, I want to talk about the music stuff in a dedicated post, so that I can keep these updates concise and on topic.
Following the super quick and dirty guitar tab writing, I took my shower. After that, I packed my stuff for the day, and left my house. On the way, I grabbed some onigiri from my local convenience store, and I shipped some Nagoya sweets to my flatmates in Tokyo as a surprise thank you. Two weeks late, but I'm sure they will appreciate them.
It was pouring rain all day today. I heard from the post office staff that the package delivery might be delayed due to the snow.

Date: 2024-02-07 02:06 am (UTC)I am considering sharing my work to give back to the music education community. Guitar tabs is something that is lacking from Super Super Songs and others. It really does change the dynamic of the classroom!
I will be writing about my dream Kurt Cobain guitar setup in another post, but it would be helpful to get a budget guitar so that I don't have to worry about something happening to my aNueNue. Alternatively, one of these Music Travel Kids guitars would be amazing to have in the kids lessons.
